Q: Problem regarding iPhone 6s PLUS and Ford SYNC(Ford Ecosport) bluetooth pairing.

Hello Apple Community!,

I have an iPhone 6s PLUS currently running iOS 9.2.1 firmware and a Ford Ecosport Trend M/T (bought last March 2015).

I always pair my iPhone with my car's audio system (Ford SYNC) whenever I hop into my vehicle everyday. I drive for like 4 hours a day and I'm fond of listening to music with my iPhone through my car's audio system. But few days ago, while playing music, my iPhone just disconnected from my car's bluetooth device. I tried to pair it several times, but it keeps on disconnecting. I switched to USB mode (I always plug my iPhone to my car for charging purpose and also listening to music when I want to turn off my iPhone's bluetooth), my iPhone was connected, but all I hear is static whenever I play music to my iPhone.

I tried deleting my phone from the audio system's bluetooth device list and master resetting Ford SYNC, and also resetting my iPhone, but it still shows same results. I'd appreciate anyone's response on what I'm experiencing right now.

Thank you so much in advance!

PS: I already upgraded my iPhone's iOS firmware to 9.2.1 before this happened.

Regards,

Marc

    Hello, m.asebo.

It seems you're having issues with your iPhone 6s Plus losing it's connection to your car's audio system. You've done some great troubleshooting so far. Great job. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps for troubleshooting your iPhone:

Get help connecting a Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    Try these steps first

    1. Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory and iOS device are close to each other.
    2. Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory is on and fully charged or connected to power. If it uses batteries, test them to see if they need to be replaced.
    3. Restart your Bluetooth accessory.
    4. Make sure that you have the latest version of iOS on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
    5. On your iOS device, go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure that Bluetooth is on. If you can’t turn Bluetooth on or you see a spinning gear, restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
    6. Unpair the Bluetooth accessory, put the accessory back in discovery mode, then pair and connect itagain.

If you still can't pair or connect your Bluetooth accessory

Check with the Bluetooth manufacturer to make sure that your accessory works with your iOS device.Contact Apple Support if you have any of these issues:
    • You can’t turn on Bluetooth or the setting is grayed out.
    • You can’t connect any Bluetooth accessories with your device.
    • The accessory manufacturer confirmed that your accessory is working correctly.
