Feb 1, 2016 4:24 PM in response to Maherfromgreenvalleyby billy macl,Hi! Sounds like you may need to perform something known as a "Hard Reset." To do a hard reset, simultaneously hold the Home Button, and the sleep button until you get a response from the iPad. Keep us informed on what happens!

I also have this issue with my ipad 3rd gen. I have tried the hard reset several times to no avail and the battery shows it is not charged even after charging overnight.
I was using it when it just stopped working, after running an update prior to Xmas. I really miss it but I think it is absolutely dead with no hope of resurrection. I had lots of stuff on it which is not on my Mac or my iphone .
Mac won't even recognise it anymore either, so I can't reset it that way.
