Jan 30, 2016 5:55 AM in response to Mrs C Spainby Demo,I Have not seen that behavior, but did you try clearing Safari's cache, close the app and restart the app?
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
To close Safari, Press the Home button two times quickly. You'll see small previews of your recently used apps. Swipe left to find the app you want to close. Swipe up on the app's preview to close it

Jan 30, 2016 8:53 AM in response to Demoby Mrs C Spain,Those were the first things I tried, closing the Safari App and Mail App, relaunching, clearing history and cache on Safari, all the usual. No luck :-(
I hope it will resolve itself in the next iOS update, which I'm hoping won't be long... I've had to restore an older iPad in the past and I REALLY don't want all the hassle of doing it again with this one and then it still might not work...
My husband's iPad 3 and my iPhone 5C are both running iOS 9.2.1 with no problems whatsoever!

Jan 31, 2016 1:10 PM in response to Mrs C Spainby xilvestre,Same issue here, I tried everything (reseted, restored, reset all safari config, suggestions from safari and browser, deleting history...) and have the same issue in my ipad (ipad air 2) and in my iphone (iPhone 6s plus), both with ios 9.2.1, others devices at home works perfectly, but I dont find the solution, I can't tap on links in mail because mail app hangs, and if I look for something in any browser on safari, I can't tap any link because it freezes, just annoying!
did you find something new?

Jan 31, 2016 1:21 PM in response to xilvestreby Mrs C Spain,I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this, I was beginning to think it was something I'd done...
No, I've not found a solution - I hope Apple addresses it in an update and soon!

Jan 31, 2016 11:42 PM in response to Mrs C Spainby StephanJC,Same here, iPad Air2, IOS 6.2.1, Safari freezes opening links or while trying to open links in new tab. Turning off suggestions did not work. Safari on my iPhone 6 runs without problems. Alternative browser (Puffin) works fine.

Feb 3, 2016 10:49 PM in response to StephanJCby poacher68,★HelpfulI have exactly the same problem except if anything it is worse. No hypertext links work in my emails. If I search with Safari I cannot open any of the search results making Safari useless. I have tried Google Chrome and Firefox and I have exactly the same problem. I have tried all the suggested solutions including reset; using different Safari search engines, turning off Safari suggestions, turning off Search engine suggestions, using Private mode. Nothing works. Safari freezes. Chrome and Firefox also freeze (but Firefox is using Google as its search engine.)
I have an iPad Air 2. So does my wife who updated hers (before I updated mine I think but I am not certain) and hers is working fine. Presumably a glitch affected the software download at a particular point in time which is why some people are OK and some are not. I also have an iPhone 4s running 9.2. Obviously I am not updating that yet!
When will Apple wake up and realise there is a serious problem here they need to solve quickly?

Feb 3, 2016 10:49 PM in response to poacher68by xilvestre,★Helpfulwe are in the same situation, is exactly the same issue, what I'm doing is using chrome browser, and when I need to open a link is pressing in the link and select "open in a new tab", safari don't let doing this because it freezes directly, in the mail app I don't know what to do to open links and I have to use the laptop...., I have the impression that iOS is not working fine, and we have paid so much money to have this problems

Feb 3, 2016 11:49 PM in response to xilvestreby poacher68,Initially I also used Chrome and then Firefox and I could get the links to work in the way you describe. But yesterday before I posted my comment that solution seemed to have crashed. Maybe it was me. Late yesterday I tried a restore to iOS 9.2 but that did not resolve the Safari problem. Having restored to 9.2 I then upgraded to 9.2.1 but once again the Safari problem persists. At least Chrome and Firefox are working again in the way you describe.
I am loathe to do a full reset because than means having to reload all data. So unless Apple comes up with something I hope it will not be long before 9.3 is released, and that 9.3 corrects the fault.

Feb 4, 2016 12:00 AM in response to xilvestreby StephanJC,To be more precise, Safari crashes/freezes immediately if I try to open a link in another tab, or in other words as soon as a link is tapped longer to open the popup with choices what to do. Alternative browsers I use (Puffin and Firefox) work fine.
What makes the situation really bad is that the original Apple IOS mail app freezes immediately by tapping _any_ link! That makes it impossible to really work with the iPad.
These effects have been not in direct conjunction with the update to 9.2.1 since I did the update the night it came out and worked without problems till the 1st or 2nd of February.
I tried: switching all Safari settings off and on in every possible combination, several reboots and warm resets. I did NOT try resetting all settings via the resetting menu, I'm hoping to get a solution that will solve the problem without the work of reentering all settings.
And yes, I do need a solution dear Apple folks!

Feb 8, 2016 1:48 PM in response to Mrs C Spainby cjmed,Same issue here but with an iPhone 6s Plus / 9.2.1.
I tried everything, (cache, reset, reset network settings, safari suggestions, etc). Finally the only thing that worked was to restore factory settings deleting everything and links worked again!!. When I restored backup it fails. I lose many things if I start with factory settings.
I have restored the backup and waiting for the next update from Apple to solve this problem.
If anybody solve it please...!!

Feb 11, 2016 6:07 AM in response to cjmedby poacher68,Now completely out of the blue - no upgrades - my wife's iPad Air 2 has developed exactly the same problem with Safari having previously been fine with ios 9.2.1.
This is clearly a Safari problem.

Feb 11, 2016 6:25 AM in response to Mrs C Spainby xilvestre,we are still in the same situation, I have to leave my ipad on the table and take my laptop if I want to work with links in mail app, I still have the problem in my iphone 6s plus and ipad air 2, both with ios 9.2.1, at least in the internet chrome let you select links as "open in a new tab"
