Q: Active calories burned after phone upgrade

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 5 to an iPhone 6. I unpaired my Apple Watch from my old iPhone and paired it with the new one. Everything seems to be working correctly except the active calories burned on the workouts. The calories burned are about half of what they were before I changed phones. Anyone else had this problem?  Thanks.

    Hi - try these steps:

    • Check that your personal information is accurate:
      • On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > Health > check and, if necessary, edit your birthdate, gender, height and weight.

    • Restart both your iPhone and your watch. Turn both devices off together, then restart your iPhone first:
      • To turn your watch off: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag it to turn off;
      • To turn it on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

    • During workouts, for the best performance from the heart rate sensor (data from which is used when estimating calories), ensure that you wear your watch snugly on the top of your wrist. Apple suggests that you consider tightening the band before starting a workout and loosening it again afterwards.

    If the issue persists, it may also help to reset your calibration data and start afresh:

    - On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > Privacy > Motion & Fitness > tap on Reset Calibration Data.

    To calibrate again, follow the instructions in the support article below, including:

    - Record Outdoor Walk and/or Outdoor Run workouts using the Workout app on your watch.

    - Do this for around 20 minutes at each of the speeds at which you normally walk or run.

    - Whilst doing so, take your iPhone with you, with Location Services turned on.

    - Allow your arm to swing naturally during the workouts (and also afterwards, during later walking or running workouts).

    Turning the phone and watch off and back on worked.  Thanks for the help!
