Q: if I upgrade my iCloud storage on one apple device do I have to on another device?

I just upgraded my iCloud storage on my Mac OS X.  Do I  have to buy Extra storage for my MacBook also?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), iLife 11

    I see that you have recently upgraded your iCloud storage for your iCloud account and have a question about this new capacity. This storage is applied to your account, not to your device, so it is utilized by any device you have signed into that account on:

    When you sign up for iCloud, you automatically get 5 GB of free storage. Your iCloud storage is used for iCloud Backup, iCloud Drive, iCloud Photo Library, app data and documents stored in iCloud, and iCloud Mail (your @icloud.com email account). You can upgrade your storage space whenever you need to. For more information, see the Apple Support article iCloud storage pricing.
