Jul 27, 2015 8:58 AM in response to DougPodby Mac Rock,Like you folks, my magic mouse wasn't responding. Tried various suggestions over a 2 week period (changing/ checking batteries; rebooting Mac & mouse, etc). Uninstalled mouse via settings (and then couldn't get it back!). Unable to detect it - even after I'd flicked Bluetooth on and off.
Finally though a variation on DougPod's trick worked. I moved the only Bluetooth File I could find to desktop (com.apple.BluetoothAudio.plist) and rebooted. Mouse found straightaway - Brill! Thanks Doug.
The only weird thing was that the plist file wasn't reinstated. I manually restored it from desktop - just in case.

Nov 7, 2015 2:38 PM in response to PvTby Andrew Edelstein,THANKY YOU!
I realize this is four years old now, but you just saved me the cost of a new mouse. Well, that and trying another Magic Mouse from another machine on my iMac and finding it had the same problem. I thought the right click button had suddenly given out and was about to buy a new mouse until I tried that, then went googling and found your answer. Turning off "secondary click" and rebooting and turning it back on fixed it.

Nov 8, 2015 12:45 PM in response to laulau_kcby claeschr,I have a similar problem:
Usining only my MacBookAir, the trackpad is working just fine - ie tap to click.
When I dock it in my office to the Thunderbolt display including bluetooth - keyboard, mouse and trackpad, everything imedeately goes bananas. Different symptoms, but always tap to click stop to work on all units (both trackpads and the mouse). Uncontrolled grey marking / highlightning of text when the cursor is moved on the screen - is another symptom.
I have tried just about everything, but jet found any solution. I even went and bought a brand new mouse. For a while I thaught it had something to do with the display, but it turns out the same thing happens when I connect the mouse to the MacAir alone also. It just takes a good bit longer time before the problem starts.
After upgrading to ElCaptain, everything was working well for a good while, but now the problem is back again - UGH.
This is just such a frustrating problem, and it has been stealing way to much of my scarce office time the last few moths.
I will try DougPods solotion next time I am in the office - and pray to all known and unknown gods simultaneously.
Hopefully that will solve it. If not - I don´t know what to do.

Feb 4, 2016 9:13 PM in response to laulau_kcby fredfromworthington,My right click function works for about 10% the times that I right click. When it fails to work, I click it again. Usually fails again. Eventually, one of my attempts is rewarded with it working normally. But, the next time I right click, it usually fails. When it works it's almost always after I have moved my finger very, very close to the bottom edge of that right portion of the mouse. But, even then, it only works a fraction of the time. My iMac is about 7 weeks "young". One more thing.....my mighty mouse is CORDED - ie, it is not wireless/bluetooth.

PeripheralsHello Fred,
I suggest you write a new thread. This one is outdated (2011).
Did you get a new mouse with your new iMac or is it second hand. Ideally, if you are on El Capitan 10.11.3 you would need a new mouse known as Magic Mouse 2. Please clarify your situation.

Mar 1, 2016 5:44 PM in response to laulau_kcby mateusmedeiros,Hey there, everyone! I'm having a quite weird thing with my mighty mouse. I owe the wireless version and everything was fine until my right click stopped working. The thing is it works for the first few couple of minutes I turn it on and then it stops working. If I turn the mouse off and on again, it'll work again... for the first few minutes, but then stop again. All the other functions work just fine. Anyone?
Thanks!
