Q: iphone 6 error 53 and APPLE WONT REPLACE OR FIX!

I purchased my Apple iphone 6 on januray 10th, 2015 in Dubai. i dropped my iphone in february and the top of the iphone(above the screen) got a minute crack. there wasn't any replacement option in India so i had no other option but to use that iphone and when i tried to update the iphone to iOS9.1 in November 2015 i got an error 53. Apple in india said they cant fix it here and i'll have to send it to dubai. I had to wait a month to send it to dubai and finally did. My warranty expires on january 11th, 2016. When given for service in dubai now, they're telling i'll have to pay 1240 aed to get a new phone because my warranty is void if the iphone is broken. BUT the error hasn't occured because i broke my phone(it was working fine for 10 months). I lost all my data because of this error. i don't want apple to fix my screen or anything! i just want them to fix the error 53 so that i can use my phone but they won't! and i haven't given the iphone for service outside yet! so it's still under warranty. please help me. i can't shed all my earning trying to fix a phone where the fault is on apple. PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU.

iPhone 6, iOS 9.0.2

KC7GNM don't say everyone... You have missed the whole point of this post.. It is (for the 50th time) not the fact that he dropped his phone that ruined it. It's the fact that Apple recommended an update which got him stuck in error 53. When something is wrong it's wrong, and it will stay wrong no matter how many people try to divert the problem to something else or make some rediculous argument about security risk.

And you missed the entire point that the update found that he made an unauthorized repair to the phone which renders the phone a brick. He should have had apple do the repair instead of having some fly by night outfit do it to save a few bucks. Now he paid a lot more than he originally would have. The error 53 is a touch ID authentication error which means that he had the touch ID replaced by someone unauthorized and when the software was updated (which he was not forced to do BTW) it invalidated the phone as a security precaution. He wanted apple to replace the phone for free which is not what apple or any company will do when you are the one that was negligent.

And yes everyone with the exception of you and one other have been telling him that.

Hey I haven't replaced the home button or anything. I haven't given it to a third party either! If I would have then Apple wouldn't have replaced my phone at any cost. when I took it to the Apple Store for repair they told me since there's a crack in the iPhone they wouldn't repair it and my only option was a replacement new iPhone for which I'll have to pay around 330 USD. Which I did because I had no other option.

Makes perfect sense. I'm not going back to a country with an apple shop for five months. I dropped my phone and the screen was cracked. So basicly I have to  live without a phone or risk losing all my data. Apple are pushing people to look at alternatives with this kind of thing. I've had at least 5  iPhones but my next phone might have to be Samsung.

Then it should be the end of the case for you so why are you still complaining?

And I believe everything you said about what you did or did not do to your phone before apple saw it.

It was under warranty when I claimed and now Since i've paid for and got the new replaced iPhone it has an extended service warranty for 2 or 3 months(Don't remember exactly). If you still want a binary answer then YES the iPhone is still under warranty.

I want a factual answer, decimal or binary is not relevant. Give me straight answer or give me none.

    Was it damaged when dropped?

Are you now saying that there was NO damage when dropped?

There was dmg on the screen. like a hairline crack above the screen near the speakers on top. but there wasn't another issue like software bugs or  anything at all. it was working perfectly normal.

    Mechanical damage voids the warranty.

I'm convinced. Next time I wreck a car I'm taking it straight back to the manufacturer and demanding a new one at half the retail price. I promise I won't argue.
