Q: Should I upgrade to El Capitan

Hello,

I need the opinion of the community. I have a mavericks server, an early 2009 mac pro.  I will soon add email services on it and I was wondering it I should, shouldn't, update to El Capitan.  The security aspect seems interesting to me and I dont want to fall too much behind.  What do you think, pros and cons ?

Thanks

Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

I think you should backup your disk completely, install, and test your environment for correct operation during an interval when being offline is feasible.   If you're running production and don't have a window for outages, then get a second server and test with that.

Email requires absolutely correct DNS forward and correct from your ISP and your DNS provider, or other SMTP servers will detect and treat your SMTP server as a spam engine and drop mail arriving from your server.
