Feb 5, 2016 2:23 PM in response to Eric Alvarezby sberman,The issue is with iTunes on your computer not being current enough to support iOS 9.2.1.
You need a current iTunes, which is version 12.3.2. In order to use iTunes 12.3.2, your computer needs OS X 10.8.5 or later (if a Mac), or Windows 7 or later.

Feb 5, 2016 2:31 PM in response to sbermanby Eric Alvarez,That is what I thought until my sisters phone which is exactly the same as mine and both are running the same software, will still connect and sync to the computer but my will not.

Feb 5, 2016 2:35 PM in response to Eric Alvarezby sberman,Have you checked versions?
Is your sister running iOS 9?
Is your computer running iTunes 12.3.2?
Why would you and your sister use the same iTunes? This sounds like a mistake. You should each have your own Apple ID, and each use your own iTunes version.

Feb 5, 2016 5:53 PM in response to sbermanby Eric Alvarez,Checked both phones and they are both up to date with iOS 9.2.1. I plugged her phone into my computer to see if I would get the same message as I did for my phone and her worked perfectly fine and allowed me to erase and sync content while mine did not. I plugged my phone into her computer to see if it would work but still nothing.

Feb 5, 2016 6:18 PM in response to Eric Alvarezby sberman,Your response sounds as if you ignored my advice.
Again, the issue is the iTunes version on the computer.
And again, only one computer should be used per device.
I suggest you re-read my last post.

Feb 5, 2016 7:56 PM in response to sbermanby Eric Alvarez,I understand what you said and I understand that my early 2008 mac is not able to run the newest version of iTunes due to lack of computer software. With that said, I do not understand why one IPhone will work and the other will not sync if they are exactly the same model and have the same iOS running. As for one device per computer, that is complete BS as how would someone with one computer sync an iPod,iPhone,iPad, etc all together? Would they need to by a computer for every device they own? There is also a thing called Apple Family Sharing. I've had multiple IPads and iPods over there years all synced to my account. What you are saying makes no sense, because with what you are saying a family that owns several iPhones and share one iMac technically should not use that one computer to sync,up date, and back up their phones.

Well, maybe ... it depends on what type of "early 2008 mac" you have.
Upgrade to OS X El Capitan - Apple Support

Because the two iPhones hopefully have two Apple IDs, while iTunes on the computer contains the material for one of the two Apple IDs.

OK, I oversimplified. Using one Mac would be fine ... but each iPhone (which should have a separate Apple ID and password) would use a separate username/password login on the Mac to access iTunes.
And, as you can see here, Family Sharing requires OS X Yosemite and iTunes 12.

Feb 5, 2016 8:16 PM in response to sbermanby Eric Alvarez,It's the Black Macbook 13in that sold early 2008 prior to the late 2008 aluminum MacBooks that came out that year. The computer is running OS X Lion 10.7.5 as it would be useless to upgrade to anything else as I will still not be able to download the new version of iTunes. I should be getting a new computer once they release later on this year but I'm a bit upset that I can't sync my music on my phone or iPad pro due to this software issue. I just keep scratching my head as to why my sister can sync her phone on either her laptop ( same gen as mine except she got the most basic macbook that year) or mine while we are running the exact same software on all our devices.
