Q: Apple watch activity

I bought an apple watch back in November and have never had a notification to stand or any credit for standing during the day. I was wondering if this happened to anyone else and what you had to do to fix it. Thanks!

    Hi

    • Check that you have enabled Wrist Detection:
      • On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (bottom left hand tab) > General > Wrist Detection - turn this on.

    • Check that you have set up the Activity app on your watch. When viewing the time on your watch:
      • Tap on the Activity rings complication.
      • Or go the Home screen (via a single press of the Digital Crown) and tap on the Activity app icon (coloured rings).
      • If the app has not yet been set up, you will then need to enter some personal information.

    • Check that you have enabled notifications from the Activity app:
      • On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Activity - check that:
        • Stand Reminders is turned on;
        • Progress Updates is set to your preferred frequency (for example, Every 4 Hours);
        • Goal Completions, Achievements and Weekly Summary are all turned on.

    • Also check the following settings:
      • On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Privacy > Motion & Fitness - check that both Fitness Tracking and Health are enabled.
      • On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Privacy > Motion & Fitness - check that Heart Rate and Fitness Tracking are both enabled.

    • If you have also enabled Passcode, make sure that you unlock your watch each day after first placing it on your wrist.

    When enabling Wrist Detection, you may find it most convenient to use this combination of settings:

    - On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > General > Wrist Detection - turn this on.

    - On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Passcode > Turn Passcode on (choose either a Simple Passcode or a more complex one).

    - Also on the Passcode settings screen, enable Unlock with iPhone.

    After putting it on your wrist, your watch will then unlock after whatever you do first: either unlocking your watch manually (by entering the passcode) or unlocking your iPhone.

    It will then remain unlocked until you remove it from your wrist, when it will lock again automatically.
