Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
It looks like you've upgraded your iMac to OS X El Capitan and your version of Pages and Numbers only shows white/transparent font when you type.
If this happens in all new documents, I'd suggest testing the behavior in a new user account on your Mac--How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac. This can give us more information about the cause of the behavior and how to troubleshoot it.
Alternately, since there are newer version of Pages and Numbers created for Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks and later, you may want to look into those versions on the Mac App Store.
See iWork: System Requirements and Mac App Store: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).
Best Regards.

Feb 8, 2016 5:18 AM in response to jeremy_vby almis1,Hi Jeremy,
Thanks for hint. I have solved this issue, when reinstalling numbers 1.03 version. The same with pages, I have reinstated the version 3,03.
This solved the problem with iWork'08. One day I will try iWork'09 - it contains a newer versions of pages and numbers.
Best Regards.
