Q: Why do I have a Spinning beachball when waking from sleep?

When I wake my OS X 10.6.8, 21.5" iMac from sleep it was very slow and there was/is a spinning beachball before it goes to work.  Thinking I may have a failing HD II used etresoft to evaluate it and got an "excellent" condition while speeding up my firefox action considerably but the beach ball is still there.

I read mac extremely slow (randomly), memory full, CPU fine

I then ran the etresoft and checked my Console to find several notations like this:

Could this be my problem?

Having trouble getting my head around this app.  It's great but a lot is assumed in the instructions and it takes a lot of research on my part to get it together.  However, this is what I have so far.  The first image is the FAF result in a full report on Genieo as you can see in the SHOW sections.  The second one is a folder I found in my Goldenbill Library folder in a manual  search which shows up in the FAF search.GenioFileInGBsLibraryFAF.pngGenioFAF2.png

That data file has disappeared from my finder's <goldenbill/Library/ApplicationSupport/genieo/data> folder.  I haven't erased any files.  Any idea where it could have gone?   Still working on this.  ....goldie

Hi OT, did I do a bad?  I'm sorry if so but I'm so thrilled to find a whole new aspect to my Mac and I do have a tendency to wander through the links learning all sorts of new things.  You've opened many new doors for me.  I hope you haven't abandoned me even though I'm something of a flake. .....goldie.

Did you try to run the Uninstall Genie.app application?  If not do so and then refund the FAF search with the circled button selected in the results window.

If you've already run the Genieo Uninstaller then delete the Genieo folder in the Caches and the Uninstall Genieo app. Then rerun the FAF search.

I ran the genieo/uninstall and got this:

When I ran this I got this:

    Screen shot 2016-02-07 at 1.29.56 PM.png

Then I ran the genieo/uninstall.com.jar, which had downloaded it to my backups and genieo disappeared.  When I ran FAF the whole bunch were gone.

It seems that when Amazon DONATED a "glance at the WaPo they downloaded genieo without telling me.  I've long since discontinued the gratuitous newspaper but genieo didn't exit with it.  AH, the grand wwwl  keeps us on our toes.

Now I'm rebooting and if they are still gone, so am I.

Thanks so VERY, VERY much OT, and have a wonderful Sunday!
