Q: Freezes opening links from apps or google searching

iPhone 6s Plus. iOS 9.2.1.

I am having problems when trying to open links from whatsapp, from mails, etc. Also when searching thrhough google search, it freezes the app....

I have seen a similar behaviour on ipad 2 forum and 9.2.1

Re: URLs not working in Safari or Mail after iOS 9.2.1

"Same issue here but with an iPhone 6s Plus / 9.2.1.

I tried everything, (cache, reset, reset network settings, safari suggestions, etc). Finally the only thing that worked was to restore factory settings deleting everything and links worked again!!. When I restored backup it fails. I lose many things if I start with factory settings.

I have restored the backup and waiting for the next update from Apple to solve this problem.

If anybody solve it please...!!"

Same problem here. I've tried absolutely everything. Even starting the iphone as a "new one". Nothing worked. I spoke with the apple care team and the only solution was to exchange my iphone since it is still under warranty. Obviously i do not want to be without phone during one or two weeks because of which is clearly a software bug (even if not recognised by apple).  Seriosuly, very disappointing...

Hello Xaviesc, but when I reset to factory settings safari works again but if I restore the backup it does not work...

When you start as a "new one" it continues with the problem in safari?

BTW, that doesnt work either. You'll see in other questions this hyperlink problem with 9.2.1 carries inti 9.3 beta and Apple has not yet responded to the thousands of views ...

My temp solution of substituting Mail by CloudMagic and Safari by Chrome works great >80% of the time. I complement w Mercury and , of course, Mail & Safari.

For linked problems w Calender i am using Fantastic.

This has taken the pressure off me and I'm relaxed using my iPad again!

it's a big pain attempting to recover from all the different backups, iCloud, Dropbox, etc etc and at the end there are no guarantees that solution will hold longer term.

Same situation here! Put phone in DFU mode, restored to 9.2.1 -- URLs worked great! Upgraded to 9.3 Beta 7 .... followed by a restore from my previous iTunes 9.3 Beta 7 backup. Links are hosed in Safari. The Mail application just farking freezes on any link click.

The debug logs show a HUGE CPU spike in the MobileSafari component. Come on Apple! Let's go ahead and get this fixed already.

Yesterday upgraded to 9.3 but the problem persists. Tried again fresh install and links worked but restoring back up fails again....!!

The fixes are only about using other browser or mail app. Or starting with fresh install.
