Feb 7, 2016 9:25 PM in response to EcoGregby MlchaelLAX,Success installing Final Cut Studio 2 (Final Cut Pro 6) in El Capitan!
Hopefully it is the easier to achieve step of turning off "GateKeeper" in System Preferences and not the more cumbersome step of turning off SIP which requires Terminal that allows Final Cut Studio 2 (Final Cut Pro 6) to be installed in El Capitan utilizing the HawaiianHippie method:

If you go over to my other post asking for help and post the two step suggestion, I will credit you with the answer.
Next I will try to acquire some DV files and attempt to run the FCP Tutorial to see how it runs in EC.

Be curious if the other apps crash when you open them. You will need the Key Codes to unlock the Apps.
Quick Time 7(??) Pro should be part of package and it is far more powerful than QT10. It does work. I just reinstalled it on my computer.
If you try to update the apps, I suggest you do not use the App Store and find the updates on Apple servers for direct download. Not even sure if FCP6 updates are available on App Store.
As far as movie clips, if you have an iPhone, take some video and then import that. Don't know if FCP 6, will support all the latest codecs and formats of modern cameras. Not sure how much it leverages Pro Updates.
Once you have set up your system and opened the apps, you can then re-enable SIP and change System Prefs back to how you had it.
Let us know if you have issues. I'm curious
Hope this helps, Greg
p.s. Ironically, I just brought over a project 2 days ago that I had started in FCP5.1.4 (2007) then moved to 7(several years ago) and now finishing in X. Brought in using 7toX app.

I actually like the legacy Mac Pros. Had my MP1.1 running Mavericks, Radeon 6870 GPU(PC non flashed, out of box), ssd boot and other speed improvements.

Not saying to buy from them, just that the legacy MP can be updated. My MP was from 2006 and was supposed to be maxed at Lion, yet I ran Mavericks. You can run later OSs as well.
Or here http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/systems.html
All telling how to keep older Macs running newer internals/OS?software
Or you can stay where you are.
Just good to know
Have a great day, Greg

Not sure what you mean by "Key Codes." I do, of course, have the FCS2 serial number, which was entered early in the installation process.
I cannot find QuickTime 7 in the Applications folder and I do not recall it being listed in the installation process. How did you reinstall it on your computer.
Interestingly, Compressor 3 appears to function, but Motion will not:
