Q: Problem syncing iTunes to iPhone 4S

I've been trying to fix this problem for a while, and I'm getting desperate.

Even the guy on the Apple help phone couldn't help.

I use my iPhone 4S 64g with Windows 8.

Problem is, I download a CD into iTunes on the PC. I can see and play the downloaded songs on the PC only.

When I sync, the new material doesn't make it to the phone. I've not had this problem until recently.

I have "Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" and "Sync only checked songs and videos" checked.

iPhone 4S, iOS 9.2.1

Review the selection of playlists that you have chosen to be synced. Perhaps they don't automatically include new content.

    Thanks for the reply turingtest2.

Not sure what your reply means, but I will say that since I have the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checked, and ALL of my songs in the library are checked, I thought it should sync everything, including new content.

As a test, I just purchased an album off iTunes, and it won't sync to the phone either.

Sync only checked songs and videos tells iTunes not to sync any unchecked tracks. It doesn't control what is selected to sync. You need to look at the Music tab for that. If that says to sync selected playlists etc. you may need to create and/or choose some additional lists.

This method seems to be working... it's going to take a lot of work.

After selecting sync selected playlists, all that was left on my phone were purchased songs.

Now I have to make one huge playlist of non-purchased songs.

How do I make it so I can only see non-purchased songs on the music tab in iTunes?

You can easily make smart playlists that meet any criteria you set. Then select these to sync.
