The reason it is relevant is that some carriers do not support simultaneous voice and data.

Feb 9, 2016 6:02 AM in response to Michgerby KiltedTim,Because activating/deactivating cellular data necessitates a disconnect/reconnect to the cellular network. It's brief, but it would cause the call to terminate. The vast majority of smart-phone users never disable cellular data. It's not a 'normal' thing to do.

Feb 9, 2016 6:18 AM in response to Lawrence Finchby Michger,i understand it as a bug in the function of the iphone. with all this technology it is pretty simple to switch on the mobile data while u r in a call. androids do it!
so u r suggesting that the carrier is to blame for my not being able to use my smart phone properly?

Feb 9, 2016 6:43 AM in response to KiltedTimby Michger,by not disabling the mobile data my battery would work for 3-4 hours ! iphone battery cant support use of mobile data and calls and use of the internet for very long. since i bought the iphone i carry the charger with me!! so much technology and apple is still not capable of making a phone with a battery that can make it through the day! but thank you in any case, for your reply
