Q: my desktop will not reboot, it loads 1/2 way then shuts off completely, HELP

2007 mac desktop will restart bar 1/2 way then shut off completely. What can I do?

    It would be helpful if we knew what version of OS X is installed on the computer. If it's 10.7.x or later, the try to restart into the Recovery Partition (Command + R) and then open Disk Utility and run either Repair Disk or First Aide. If errors appear that means the HD has crashed and needs to be replaced.
