Q: upgrade reminders

Is there any way to stop these annoying upgrade and update reminders from popping up in the righthand top corner of your screen?

Thank you Eric Root, but on 10.8.5 I do not seem to have that preference. I posted this in the Yosemite forum because that is what I am now installing on several computers, but the problem actually is with 10.8.5. Sorry for the confusion!

You are welcome. Not a problem. If I remember correctly, look for a System Preferences called Software Update.
