Q: Airport Extreme - Airplay speakers

I have an Airport Extreme connected to a comcast Arris TM702G Docsis 3 cable modem.  I use airplay and it works to my two Apple TVs but not to my Airplay speakers.  Speaker worked for a few hours and now drops out often.  Any suggestions why?

iPhone 5, iOS 8.1.2, Asus N66 router

    Which exact version of the AirPort Extreme do you have? What is the make & model of your AirPlay speakers?

     

    You also indicate that you have a Asus N66 router. Are you using this in your current network configuration? If so, how, and how is the Extreme configured to work with it? Are both routers in the same room, different room, or different floor? How are they interconnected? By wire, wireless, or both?

    Not using the Asus, replaced it with the Airport Extreme, it a brand new extreme.  Speaker is a Wren V5AP, got it in October.  The speaker is about 10 feet from the Airport Extreme.  I have gone through the recommended setting which Wren advised me to do, they are all correct.  Airplay drops every few seconds when using either my Mac or iPhone 6.

    The airport extreme is AIRPORT EXTREME 802.11AC, ME918LL/A Version 7.7.3
