Q: Will iphone 6 work in Italy or do I need to get some type of adaptor?  Also wondering about GPS on iphone while in Italy

What steps do I need to take to ensure that my iphone works in Italy.  Also, will the GPS on the iphone work while in Italy.

    I can't address phone calls but gps is gps is gps and it will work just fine.

    Your iPhone WILL work however you might need a charging adopter depending on the voltage that Italy uses. As for the GPS it will work as well but depends on your carrier's data plan! For more information I would contact the carrier for costs about plans.

    1. Make sure your iPhone is not carrier locked

    2. iPhone power adapter works internationally, so only a prong adapter is needed.

    3. GPS will work better if you have cell connection.

     

    Important: The accuracy of the compass can be affected by magnetic or environmental interference; even the magnets in the iPhone earbuds can cause a deviation. Use the digital compass only for basic navigation assistance. Don’t rely on it to determine precise location, proximity, distance, or direction.

    No, that is incorrect.  Apple's chargers function with any voltage anywhere in the world.  The only thing that might be needed is a mechanical adapter so that the prongs fit into the socket.
