Feb 11, 2016 2:10 PM in response to bobbypiceby jfraser4,Your iPhone WILL work however you might need a charging adopter depending on the voltage that Italy uses. As for the GPS it will work as well but depends on your carrier's data plan! For more information I would contact the carrier for costs about plans.
As for the adaptor you can buy them here: http://www.apple.com/ca/shop/product/MD837AM/A/apple-world-travel-adapter-kit

Feb 11, 2016 2:12 PM in response to bobbypiceby ckuan,1. Make sure your iPhone is not carrier locked
2. iPhone power adapter works internationally, so only a prong adapter is needed.
3. GPS will work better if you have cell connection.
Important: The accuracy of the compass can be affected by magnetic or environmental interference; even the magnets in the iPhone earbuds can cause a deviation. Use the digital compass only for basic navigation assistance. Don’t rely on it to determine precise location, proximity, distance, or direction.

No, that is incorrect. Apple's chargers function with any voltage anywhere in the world. The only thing that might be needed is a mechanical adapter so that the prongs fit into the socket.
