Since this is a user to user support forum, what you choose for your device is of no concern to us. If you don't want to spend the time to get a problem that you created fixed, then that is your prerogative. No need to tell us.

    Cheers,

I never said I wouldn't go get it fixed but people here are making it sound like they might not even fix it and all you need to do is take the battery out

Well you knew before that there was no fix. As you know now. But you wanted to do it. And no one will believe that you just accidentally put that date in....

Besides, if you want to shout, don't do it here, we are not Apple, just users like you (or better: just users not like you).

Read this thread again. And then do it again.

You can easily resolve this issue by following the instructions already provided. You intentionally put the date in (for what reason, we don't know), and, as has also been explained, it corresponds with a value deep in the logic that causes the issue you have seen. If you want to experiment with internet garbage on your device, that is your prerogative. You have now completed your experiment, and you see the results. If you want it fixed then follow the instructions. If you want to complain because of your own gullibility, then do it on Twitter or Facebook. This is a user to user technical support forum. Rants and complaints for the sake of complaining are against the TOU.

I am not a "Dude". And, when you do something that someone on the internet said was "cool", bad things are very likely to happen.

This is not the first one of these I've seen. I just would like to know what terrific thing occurs when you do this. I read someone make a claim about using it to fool Clash of Clans, but considering the fact it can cause an issue, which has been publicly reported, people are still doing it.

Remember the text message fiasco from late last year? Same kind of thing here..... (eyeroll).

You were told multiple times to take the device and proof of purchase to Apple.

I started seeing it yesterday and was confused. It soon became apparent that it was a thing floating around the 'Net. Rather like the "your phone will charge really fast it you microwave it". It was a lot harder to pass that one off as an accident, though.

Yeah except no fix was posted at all just a couple people saying oh maybe apple will fix it if you schedule an appointment and wait to go in

And that is the fix.  Why is that so hard for you to comprehend.  You made a dumb decision by resetting the clock and now you have to deal with it.  Sorry that does't float your boat, and you can argue about it all you want, but it doesn't change reality.

The only joke here is you thinking it would be cool to change the date for no reason whatsoever.

    P.S.  Go get your Android.
