However, in the Security section it is still asking me for the pet name and street name. So, I am back to square one.
It would be nice if this problem could be solved, but not nearly as important as my problem with someone having my computer hacked.
Have tried to erase the hard drive but in the Disc Utility section - in the left column - I have TWO Macintosh HD selections. Highlighting the first one, I see
only First Aid/Partition. No "Erase" button. Highlighting the SECOND Macintosh HD I have First Aid / Erase / Restore buttons. When I press the Erase button, all options are greyed out except the "Erase free space..." button.
But, to begin with, I have also tried to shut down the computer and then restart it by pressing the power button and the "alt" key. (option key) The screen that came up is NOT the picture of the two hard drive but a grey screen with a large padlock and a small window to enter the password. The window is unresponsive! So, I had to shut down and start it in the regular mode. Think I've been hacked?
ANY help would be super appreciated because currently I am in Hungary - cancer treatment - and there is NO ONE capable of helping with an APPLE computer! N O B O D Y! Tried to write to apple, no response.
Someone PLEASE, help.
Many thanks.

Feb 13, 2016 10:03 AM in response to touchofgreyby Eric Root,There is a contact link.
If you want to erase the hard drive, do a backup, preferable 2 separate ones on 2 drives. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option/alt key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair Disk and Repair Permissions until you get no errors. Reformat the drive using Disk Utility/Erase Mac OS Extended (Journaled), then click the Option button and select GUID. Then re-install the OS.

Feb 15, 2016 3:39 AM in response to Eric Rootby touchofgrey,Hi Eric,
Thanks for your reply.
I may not be explaining my problem properly, because none of you have understood that I am UNABLE to do what you and everyone else are suggesting.
As I said both times before, when I press the power button and the "R" key and hold the "R" until I hear the chime, I get to my regular screen where I see
user icon and enter the password!
If I hold the power and "Alt" key, I get a huge padlock on the screen and a place where someone -in this case the person who hacked me - would enter a password.
So, please, believe me I have done it correctly and have taken it to others who also have tried it.
Now, I would only like to ask if there is a way to purchase a recovery disk from apple and if so, would someone please, send me an EXACT link to it?
MacBook Pro Yosemite 10. 10
Once again, I really appreciate all you guys have done for me. I guess this is a heavy duty problem. Worry not, though! Payback is a ....!

Feb 15, 2016 8:59 AM in response to touchofgreyby Eric Root,Try booting into Internet Recovery (command - option/alt - R on a restart). It is a slow process. You can erase the disk there. This will install the OS that the computer shipped with. You can then try to upgrade from there.
