Q: my ipod shuffle 1st generation wont turn on and it wont charge either , does it need a battery replacement?

I have a Ipod shuffle 1st generation and i plug it in to my Mac BookPro to charge it but for some reason it wont charge. Does it need a battery replacement?

i bought this ipod , i wanna say about 2005 or 2006 i cant really remember and gave it use for about 3 years and ever since then its been stored away. i found it it now and i really wanted to use it but it wont charge. Any solutions to my problem?
