Q: I have finished a Apple photo book but when I preview it some of the photo's have turned translucent?

I have finished a Apple photo book but when I preview it some of the photo's have turned translucent?  Have tried cutting them and replacing them but same result.  They are good quality photo's and look perfect on the page.

iMac with Retina 5K display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)

Which version of Aperture are you using? And which book theme?

Did you edit the photos in question in an external editor? If they contain transparency for an alpha channel, you may not see it in Aperture, because Aperture does not handle alpha channels well.

Another possibility would be filters.  Check for the book pages in question, if a filter is active for the photo boxes:

Thanks Leonie but it didn't work (no filters were active).  I am using Aperture 3.6 and the theme of the book is Journal.  They are unedited photo's and 99% of the book is fine it is only effecting some.  Below are screen shots of my problem: The first shows what it looks like when I finish the page.

And this is what it looks like after I upload it and preview prior to purchase.

Any other suggestions would be wonderful.

    Thank you,

    Fiona

Where are yyou uploading the book to?  The Apple Print Products Store?

Disable the option "Onscreen Proofing" in the View menu in Aperture, if it should be active.

Try to find out, if the book project  is corrupted or the photos you are adding are causing the problem.

As a test, create a new book with the same theme, then recreate the page in question in the new book with the same two photos.  Does the preview look o.k. for the same page in the new book?

If not, export one of the problematic photos to the Desktop, then open it in Preview. Edit it a little bit, save it again as a JPEG, reimport.

Try the edited copy in the book.

Thank you finally something worked.  Recreating a new book incurred the same problem so I took your advice and edited the photo's then reimported them and they appeared non effected.

Thanks for not giving up and helping me fix the problem.
