Q: Punctuation on dictation

Hi,

 

I am new to using dictation (have a frozen shoulder and can't type). My question is - how can I enable punctuation on Dictation? Or do I have to enter it using the keyboard?

MacBook Air (11-inch, Early 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

You can use dication for puncuation, see here: Dictation commands you can use in OS X - Apple Support

and OS X Yosemite: Use Dictation Commands to tell your Mac what to do - Apple Support

For the most part, you can just state the name of the puntuation. Ex: I went to the store (period) and a "." would be inserted. -AJ
