I wonder how Apple will deal with the 1970 bug...
You will know the update comes when, and if, there is the next iOS update and it is included in it. That's how Apple does things.

Make a genius appointment with Apple and take it in for them to reset it for you.
If it is an important piece of equipment in your daily life, and it is working fine, then why mess about with silly internet suggestions in the first place?
