Q: Beta downgrade and backups? PLEASE HELP

I have been using the latest 9.3 beta 3 on my iPhone and had some trouble with it. So I decided to downgrade by restoring the iPhone. I backed up my info and went ahead with it (iTunes started downloading 9.2.1 and putting it back on my iPhone).

After the reinstall iTunes refused to let me use the backup as the software on my iPhone was too old. So now I am downloading 9.3 BACK on to my iPhone to try and get my data back. I hope this works.

I need to know if there is any way to get out of this vicious cycle of trying to get out of the beta program. If I delete the profile, will I get the stable release of 9.3 at any point? I remember with 9.2 I was stuck with the last version of the beta when I deleted the profile.

I feel my iPhone is messed up forever and it can't be fixed unless I delete everything.

    Hello coocoo121,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that you have been unable to go back to the current version of iOS from the beta version. I would suggest reading over the following article to ensure the proper steps are being followed to revert back to the current version of iOS.

Go back to the current version of iOS

If you're using iOS beta and want to go back to the current version of iOS, follow these steps:

    1. Make sure that you're using the latest version of iTunes.
    2. Put your device in recovery mode and restore it. If you turned on Find My iPhone, enter your Apple ID and password after the restore to activate your device.
    3. If you can't finish the restore, get help.
    4. After the restore is complete, you can set up your device from your archived backup. This backup should be from an earlier version of iOS.

If your device has a prerelease version of iOS and you restore the device to an earlier version of iOS, you might not be able to restore your backup. This can happen if the backup is from a later version of iOS. For example, if you restore your device to the current version of iOS and try to use a backup that you created using a prerelease version of iOS.
