Final Cut Pro X will work, although some features which are more dependent on a modern graphics card may fail to work, or work in a limited way - like the 3D text engine. I'd strongly recommend having at least 8GB of RAM, otherwise it may be painfully slow.

Feb 17, 2016 7:40 AM in response to DInsleyby Russ H,★HelpfulIt will work for most HD projects. I would imagine it might scrape by with some UDH clips in your projects if you use Proxy for your media.
Consider maxing out the RAM (up to 8 GB, I believe).
Also, your best setup will be to store your libraries on an external Thunderbolt drive – possibly an SSD.
