Q: using emoji shuts down messenger. Any ideas why?

when adding an emoticon to a text message, it shuts down messenger. Any ideas?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.2.1

A:

Double click your home button and close the Apple MESSAGE app buy scrolling up. Then turn off the emoji keyboard and turn it back on.

Are your referring to the Apple Messages app or the FaceBook Messenger app?
