Have you tried turning Find My iPhone off, then back on on your devices?

Feb 13, 2014 12:20 PM in response to Bob1972by randers4,I've never heard that particular message (can't even find it with Google). If you've already looked through the troubleshooting steps in the article you were reading I'm not sure what else to suggest.

Feb 13, 2014 12:23 PM in response to Bob1972by randers4,If one of the devices is an iPhone you might try turning off wifi to see if it can be located using just the cellular data network. If it can, then I would try on a different wifi network to see if your wifi is the problem.

MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2014), OS X Yosemite v.10.10.2
If anyone could help that would be great!

Feb 24, 2015 9:23 PM in response to Bob1972by stumbleone,My understanding is that a device must have access to either WiFi, a cellular network, or (best) GPS in order to establish a location. Of course iPhones can access all three and iPads also if they incorporate cellular. However, Mac computers don't have GPS or cellular.
So if a Mac is connected to Internet via Ethernet to a LAN and not WIFi it will not be able to establish a location. Anyway, that's my experience.
