Have tried this a few times. But when the loading bar is about to finish, itunes just stops working and then comes up saying operation timed out. Do i have to take it to the apple store??

Ask a friend with a Mac or a later model version of Windows for assistance.

Visit the nearest Apple store. Make a Genius Bar reservation first to avoid delay.

I tried it through DFU too. Ended by sending my phone to repair center.

Heres there answer in short: We wont repair, cause its not a warranty problem. Pay 820€ and get a new phone or get it back unrepaired. My phone is not even 3 months old. iPhone 6s plus. Any solution for this?

Before I sent my phone to repair, I didnt get an Error like this. I have to wait till my phone gets back to me.

Im just shocked why everyone gets it repaired or replaced but I should pay.

Think I tried everything but in the end after exhausting every option and thank you btw, for all the suggestions , I waltzed into my nearest apple shop and booked a Genius Bar appt, unfortunate it was a 5 hour wait but in the end it was returned to me after a 10 minute disappearing act . All fixed ! I wonder what they did and to save 1m stupid users queing up for the same problem (btw if it wasnt for social media it would be a 100) why don't they post a reply to everybody ? Giving everyone clear instructions ? come on Apple , I've wasted loads of time on this , I'm sorted now but could have been an easier experience , we all mess up from time to time .

You are not addressing Apple here. This is a user to user support forum. The solution is to contact Apple to handle it, that is why it got done for you when you went there.

Chris thanks but you miss the point my friend , i know I am not addressing Apple , I know it's a user to user forum , what you are missing is that when I had a problem I came here so now I have posted a reply to help others relate and hopefully save them some time .

And btw forums like this are monitored by employees from

Apple for feedback good and bad from their end users .

I'm sorry, I did not miss the point. This is what you posted.

That is what I responded to. The fact was, when this was first encountered, Apple needed to know what was happening, since it was not something that Apple told you, or anyone else to do.

There are hosts that monitor the forum, but not for feedback from end users, it is to ensure the forum continues working and the posters follow the rules. Feedback comes from the feedback page. All of that information was provided to you when you agreed to the TOS of the forum.

They are not monitored by employees, per the forum managers I had dinner with recently. The hosts will review posts that are reported by participants at level 2 or higher, but beyond that they do not read the forums in any organized manner.

And btw forums like this are monitored by employees from Apple for feedback good and bad from their end users . BTW - no they are not. The only Apple employees that participate in this forum are the Hosts who enforce the TOU, and the Community Specialists who review posts that have not been answered for more than 2 days, and attempt to provide an answer to those posters.

If you would like to send feedback to Apple, you can do so here: Apple - Feedback. They do not respond to feedback directly, but they do read all of it, and oftentimes use that feedback to inform their responses to issues and "bugs", perceived or real.

    Cheers,

Actually thought I said I went to Apple shop and got it sorted ? Instead of the 2 days I spent in this forum getting nowhere ! I think that recommendation qualifies as a time saving measure Gail does it not ?
