Q: Aperture and photoboks

During a conversation with Apple  yesterday about a problem I was having with the construction a photobook, I was told by  the Apple person that it would not be possible to have photobooks printed by Apple after 31 March.2016.  Anyone know if this is correct?

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

No - we of course are only users just like you- I've seen no official announcements but that would not surprise me  --  you might check out Presto Photos

    as an alternative

IF that were true, the same would probably apply for iPhoto books.

that would be a great pity, if it no longer were possible to create books with a custom layout in any way.

We can only hope, that Apple will improve the Photos book considerable, if all other more convenient ways to create a photo book will be terminated.

This Mar 31, 2016 printing restriction only applies to photobooks created in Aperture.  The final nail in Aperture's coffin...

Users still wishing to print with Apple need to migrate to considerably less flexible Photos app and select the considerable less printing options at higher pricing.

It also applies to print products created in iPhoto.

Now you can only order books created in Photos for Mac from Apple, and that is very limited.  No support for custom layouts at all.

    Yes,

    This is true.

I stopped using Apple's photobooks for awhile, now, though.

I have switch to using another maging service, that I really like, Shutterfly.

I have a lot more flexibilty with my images in iPhoto and Aperture with Shutterfly than I had with Apple's own service.
