You would have to look into using Home Sharing which requires direct computer connection. The your great-grandfather three times removed is "family" but probably at some stage too much is too much as far as the media companies are concerned and "family" is those who are related and actually live with you.

Apple offers recoverable media storage through the Match service but it is not a substitute for a proper computer backup with a hard drive, or external storage. It is really more a travel convenience feature.
