Q: error 56 after update to iOS9.2.1

two days ago I tried to update my iPAD Air 2 from iOS 9.2. to 9.2.1. via OTA. The Software patch was loaded and the installation started - the "fist Apple" appeared and the bar started normally from left to right. At approx. 75% the bar stopped and the iPAD went into the Restore/Maintenance mode (lightning cable and iTunes icon on the screen). All attempts to bring it into the DFU mode (home button on/off bottom combinations) were not successful. Then I tried an update/restore via iTunes - I installed the appropriate sowtware update (1.87 GB) and started the installation from my computer (I considered all recommendations, e.g. switching off Firewalls and Life Scans). The installation started normally ("first Apple") until installation/verification of the Apple Firmware. The appropriate bar  in iTunes stopped at >95% and the message "can´t install update - can´t restore iPAd" appeared, together with the error code 56. I repeated the procedere using different USB ports and different lightning cables without any success. What does it mean. The intallation protocol contains several thousand rows - I´m not an expert but at the end of this file I found things like "DRAM error".

The guys from Apple Care also told me that the problem is related to an hardware error. I should bring it to the next Apple retail store for fixing, or I should use the Express Exchange Service. There are some confidential data on the device, so i´m not happy with an exchange.

Does anybody know if this problem can be fixed on the same day in an Apple store, or is an exchange the only way to solve this problem?

Greetings

Andreas
