Mar 9, 2016 12:34 PM in response to 1DVby koakamaka,This did the trick!!! I was extremely frustrated! Thanks to this thread, I realized my problems were due to upgrading to El Capitan 10.11.3!!! It not only made my Macbook Air (early 2014), not recognize my Complact Flash port, but my USB as well! It resolved the issues on the first go!

Apr 26, 2016 8:27 AM in response to ashleyvzqzby dannyv'swife,Just came across this problem today - tested more than one thumb drive and they all had a problem. When going to Finder, it would show, but there were no buttons to eject nor was the information on the thumb drive visible yet when I took it out, it said that it was not ejected properly - hmmmmmmmmmmm. I then came to this forum and found that someone suggested something kind of strange, but it was the only "solution" as nobody else offered any kind of fix (thanks Apple btw - such expensive products should work EVERY TIME!). Anyway, slide the thumb drive in the port as slowly as you possibly can, it worked for me several times now...
Thanks Apple Community!

Apr 30, 2016 9:32 PM in response to synepdxby dbones123,Wow. I just tried your tip on my new MB Air 2016 (8gb update version) and burst out laughing when it worked.
Thank you. Should I return this MB for a new one? Is this a common problem, or a rare one?

Jul 10, 2016 6:31 PM in response to ashleyvzqzby jpfortin,Like you the flash drive was nowhere to be found. I had a USB extension I bought a long time ago for a joystick. I just put the USB key in it and it worked right away, perfectly.

Sep 2, 2016 9:53 AM in response to ashleyvzqzby 01Mick,Found this and solved it: so easy so maybe I am in error - but try.
On your finder click "GO" then "computer" and the flash pops up.
