Q: Circle with line through it after formatting hard drive
hi all- I am trying to get my MacBook pro (late 2011-2012) ready to sell. I have erased the harddrive and upon trying to reinstall Yosimite, I am asked to put in an Apple ID and password. It says repeatedly that my password was wrong, so I went to 'forgot' and past that the computer would not do anything. I restarted it thinking I could end up at that same point and would try again, but now upon start up, even if I hold 'command+R' to go to the disk utilities, the apple shows up and acts like it is booting up properly, but then it stops and shows a circle with a diagonal line through it and won't do anything further.
I googled it and found that I might need the OS cd, which did not come with my computer, and upon going to the Apple Store, the wait was over 4 hours or I could make an appointment for 3 days from now. Figured I would try my luck here.
Answers are greatly appreciated! Something that seemed so simple has turned into quite the task!
