Q: Other people don't receive my Share Screen Request

I try to ask someone to share screen with me and invite to share my screen via Messages,

I send the requests, but somehow other people don't receive them.

But when other's send request to me, i receive the request and i can use the screen sharing function.

What's wrong with my mac, why other people don't receive my requests?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), null

Move your Mac to another Wi-Fi network (office, school, Apple Store, library, coffee shop, etc), and try testing the screen sharing requests from there.

That'll isolate whether this is a problem with your MacBook Pro configuration, or with your local network.

After you invite someone to share your screen, have you verified they haven't received the request by a followup question? Does this happen with more than one contact?

    Hi,

Are you using an AIM account or Jabber account to connect to another Mac ?

If so there is a bit of a known issue that have not been resolved.

It's partly related to the fact that in El Capitan the feature has been removed and therefore the server seems to have been changed.

IF it is an iMessages Connection you need to turn On System Preferences > Sharing > Screen Sharing as the Messages app invokes this app like it does for FaceTime and Video.

    Hi,

So you are starting an iMessages chat with the person then using the Details option top right and selecting the Screen Sharing icon ?

This is not launching the Screen Sharing App ?

Or it does  but sending an invite does not appear at the other end ?

yes, i started it with the screen sharing icon, and the app did launch.

it sent the invite, but didn't show at the other end.

    Hi,

In that case in their System Preferences > Security and Privacy > Firewall Tab Advanced setting are they allowing File Sharing ?

It should appear in the  top section once allowed in the System Preferences > Sharing pane
