Q: how to send a photobook to another country?

Hi, I just made a Apple photo book on my Macbook. Previously I did not encounter any problems with the order process, but now I've been told it my time is not correct and I should change this. I live temporary on Aruba and would like to send the photo book to my parents in Holland. But it seems that this is not possible! WHY? And how can I change this? The photo book is a present for someone here on Aruba and I'm not going to Holland anytime soon. If I enter my address in Aruba, it says it cannot send products to this address. So, I'm stuck! What to do?!

I hope someone can advise me! Thank you very much.

Books can be only sent to the same country as that in the billing address of the credit card used to purchase it.  Also the Apple Print Store must be in the same country.

If you have a credit card with a Holland billing address you can use it and have the book delivered to your parents.  Just be sure to change the Print Product Store to  Netherlands.

Otherwise you'll have to have the book sent to yourself and reship it.

When you order a book, the Print Products Store needs to set to the country of the delivery address (in iPhoto > Preferences > Advanced).

The billing address needs also to be in the country of the delivery address, and your AppleID and credit card need to be registered with that billing address.

To be able to use the print products store in the Netherlands, set your system Preferences like you would set them in the Netherlands - in Language and Region and in Date&Time.

    Thank you for your replies!

I have a credit card with the same address in The Netherlands.

The credit card and correct address is in my Apple account.

I've set the store for products for The Netherlands.

I've changed the time and region to The Netherlands.

Still, it doesn't work! It keeps saying my time is not correct!

    What's could be wrong?

What is the exact error message, and when does it appear?

In Dutch it says ' The current time on this device is not correct. You can change the time when you go to .... - General - ....Date and Time. Try again after that'

It appears when I need to log on to buy the material, after I have entered the delivery address.

Try setting your time zone to that of your parents in the Netherlands and try again.  Then you can set it back to where it should be.

It says in Dutch 'The current time in this device is not correct. You can change the time when you go to settings - ....- date and time. You can try again after this.

It appears when I need to log on with my Apple ID to buy the material. Before that I've clicked the Order button and entered the delivery address.

As Aruba is part of the Koninkrijk der Nederlanden, you should be allowed to purchase from the print products store in the Netherlands.

Contact the Apple Store Support for help. The problem is, that your Mac can tell from your Wi-Fi connection that you are currently not in the home lands and erroneously assumes you are in a country where the print products are not supported. And you should hurry to get the book printed - just in case: https://discussions.apple.com/message/29809312?ac_cid=tw123456#29809312

I did already put the time and date on the time of my parents in The Netherlands.

I also think the problem appears because I'm on Aruba right now. But it's not very globalized of Apple do don't allow orders from being in another country.

I will try to contact the Apple Support

Thank you for all the replies

Would it be possible to send my photo book to another computer?

That way I could send it to the MacBook on my parents and let them order it for me.

Would that be something that will work?

Make a copy of your iPhoto Library on an external drive, where you have enough storage. Then delete all photos that are not needed for the book from the copy of the library. Once the library is small enough compress it and put into your dropbox or somewhere, were you have enough storage. Or copy it to a thumbs drive or a DVD and send it by Air Mail.

If your parents have the same version of iPhoto they will be able to order the book for you.

This tutorial describes how to archive an iPhoto book so you can store it easily or, as léonie mentioned, send it off to others for use: #9 - Archiving an iPhoto 7(08)/8(09)/9(11) Book for Editing and/or Ordering at a Later Date

Thanks.  That's from my older tutorial site.  I'm slowly moving to my new site, http://www.oldtoadstutorials.net/, which is built with Flux.
