Q: All Apple Music songs deleted from playlist

My Apple Music songs weren't playing on iTunes (typical, happens about twice a day). So I logged out and logged back into my account on iTunes. All of my Apple Music songs (as far as I can tell) reappeared, but one of my playlists only has songs in it that aren't from Apple Music. So a 100+ song playlist that I listened to almost daily has now been reduced to a measly seven songs. Very frustrating! My iPhone also has this error. It's confusing because none of my other playlists seem affected.  Is there any way I can recover this playlist??? It took me months to make and has sentimental value.

    Hi hil21,

I understand that you are wanting to get a playlist that is missing songs. Let's see if we can get that back for you.

What I suggest is to restore a previous version of your iTunes library back. This troubleshooting is typically used when you update iTunes and you don't see your music, but this will accomplish the same task for your playlist. Take a look at the article below for more specific details on how to do this.

Let me know if this helps.

    Have a good day

What were the sources of the songs in the non-Apple Music playlist? I assume by "non-Apple Music" you are referring to songs that you either ripped from CDs or purchased/downloaded from either iTunes or another website.

Are those songs still in your library? If not, you would have to re-add the files (assuming they are on your computer) back to the iCloud Music Library. Then they should appear back in that playlist.

No, sorry maybe my wording wasn't very clear. The non-Apple music songs were still in the playlists, it was the Apple Music ones that disappeared. In the end I just had to re-create the playlist from memory. Hopefully someone else can find an answer if this happens again in the future.

Sorry for the late response. I did try this almost immediately after but I didn't get it back. Just had to re-create from memory as best I could. Hasn't happened since so hopefully the bug (if there was one) is gone. Thanks for your help though

I'm experiencing the same problem. I accidentally deleted a playlist filled with 75 Apple Music tracks from the Apple Music Android App. I immediately closed my internet connection to avoid syncing the deletion and opened iTunes from my PC and backuped my playlist and then reconected my phone to the internet. Not to my surprise, when I imported the previously backuped playlist, it was empty... Probably Apple Music tracks cannot bakuped as playlists.

    Any suggestions?
