Q: Green lights on back of watch continually lit. Not taking heart rate- never have. Its draining my battery. How do I turn them off?

The green lights on the back of my watch are lit perpetually. They wont shut off. I have never used my watch to take my heart rate. The green lights won't turn off. And they are draining my battery. How do I turn them off/reset the watch to turn them off?

Apple Watch, iOS 9.2.1

    Hi

Try restarting your watch: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag the slider to turn off; then press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

I Had the same issue and restarts didn't fix it. I then remembered  a couple days ago Strava asked to use the watch as a heart monitor. So I erases the Strava app from the watch and I have not had issues since. If you have Strava, try uninstalling that from the watch.

If you have been using Strava, you may presently have an activity paused in Strava on your watch. If so, end the activity in Strava on your watch (not your iPhone).

Otherwise (or if the Workout icon is still shown on your watch after ending a paused activity), it may help to temporarily turn off Strava's ability to share (write) data to the Health app on your iPhone:

    - On your iPhone, in the Health app: Sources > Strava > under "Allow Strava to Write Data", turn off Heart Rate.

    - Enable the setting again before next recording a workout with Strava.

To prevent this issue from happening again in connection with recording future workouts using Strava: start, finish and save your activity from the Strava app on your watch, not from Strava on your iPhone.

Thank you! I do have Strava on my phone and its been asking me the same on my watch. Bummer, I like using Strava for my runs. Guess I will keep it on my phone and remove it from my watch. Thank you for the help!

    You're welcome!

You should not experience the issue again if you finish and save your activity from the Strava app on your watch, instead of via Strava on your iPhone.
