Q: Connector For My MBP & A Display

Hi,

I have a Mid 2010 17-inch MacBook Pro.

I'm planning to get myself a 27 inch display from ViewSonic.

What kind of "connector" do I need?

I have talked to ViewSonic Tech Support, the tech said that the display supports Mac, but I will need to get the connector myself.

BTW, does anyone know when we'll have a new designed iMac? Or what the new designed iMac will look like?

What input port does your new display accept? You get an adapter to go from your computer's mini display port to the display's input port. For example if your display has an HDMI input port you would get a mini display port to HDMI adapter. If your display has a DVI input port you would get a mini display port to DVI adapter.

Where do I get the adapter? Can I buy it from Apple Online Store?

Of course the adapter is too short to connect directly between the devices. You also need the connecting HDMI cable one would normally use tp connect two HDMI ports.

Doesn't the ViewSonic monitor come with connector cables? Every single monitor I've ever bought came with cables? Then, all you need from Apple is the adapter.
