Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you're using an Apple wireless mouse and keyboard with your iMac, but the mouse doesn't work when the USB receiver for your Logitech mouse is not connected.
If the Logitech mouse uses Bluetooth, try setting it up using the steps in Using a Bluetooth mouse, keyboard, or trackpad with your Mac.
You can also troubleshoot your Apple mouse with the steps in If your Apple wireless mouse, keyboard, or trackpad aren't working as expected.
Additionally, I'd recommend Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac.

then it doesnt
then it does
the connection is lost
then its connected
i don't have time to test this
el capitan is not stable
so i lose a USB port
to the transreciever to my LOGITEC mouse which works fine
