Q: No secure connection to wifi. Firewall software needed?

my wifi connection is not secure here, so believe I need to install a firewall software onto this iPad to allow my emails to be directed to the actual addresses I choose to send them to, rather than, when typed up, and the 'send' word is pressed, then that particular email, and others, they go straight into my 'outbox?'( I assume that this outbox  is there  just for that purpose? For emails to be directed to if there is no secure connection..?).

IS there a website for these firewalls so I can 'release' these emails from their 'blocked status' and permit them to be redirected to the right inboxes? I'd really welcome an answer to this plea...?

If your mail is going to your Outbox and staying there, then you should receive some type of error message. Generally, errors like this have to do with the connection to your outgoing mail server. If you receive an error message, what is the exact error that you are receiving?

BBit baffled by technology. The error message is 'cannot send mail'. 'The username or password for my email address is incorrect'. Don't understand these words in this sentence. what does the 'username' refer to, my email address? If so, how do I alter this, with no real knowledge of iPads...? And the password for my email address also. Where do I locate  this  and how do I solve that, enter in a new password..? How? Please excuse my ignorance, this is a strange dialogue to me.. Any advice...?

Well, that information is provided to you by your email provider, and you should have created your password. When you add an email account to your iPad, you have to enter the account information given to you by the email provider. Generally, the username is your email address, or at least the portion before the @ sign. You create the password, and this has to be entered in both the incoming server to get the mail, and the SMTP server, or outgoing server to send mail. This support document may help you understand that, and then how to look to see where the error is. Since it is sending, then it has to do with your SMTP server, and you can check those settings individually by going to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>select the individual account you are wanting to look at, then tap on SMTP, tap on the Primary server and check your settings there. Your email provider should answer any other questions you have regarding the settings you need to have on/off, based on their requirements. Good luck.  Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Think there might be a different reason here? An additional yahoo! Email account was added recently, so there is that as well as my Sky Email and Gmail account.

When I went to settings, as advised, I tapped on SMTP Server, and tapped on one, to turn on the server button. Having done that, I tried sending an email and it did send that one. Then I tried resending one that had been directed to my outbox, but it sent this to the outbox again. So baffled now.

Does this imply that might be where the problem lies, as opposed to passwords, which I assume would have been added by the PC Expert. Will check that link you added on your reply... maybe if I delete the Yahoo account this might solve things..? Also, just to add, I am not within my home environment, with my own wifi connection, so could this be the issue? Having the same problem with my kindle...

In the adding of a Yahoo account, the question comes up as to how many SMTP servers do you have listed in Settings? Is the first account also Yahoo? If that is the case, the servers need to be set up individually. You will need to look at the auto information about the SMTP servers to see which is which, as each one will match the username and password information for each mail account. The fact you are not home shouldn't matter, as mail should send anywhere.

Seem to correct itself once I switched off the buttons and turned the device back on. I'll see if this has solved this issue now. Hopefully, so.... thanks for your efforts... I'll bear that link in mind should the problem persist....
