I understand that the Mail application is informing you of an issue with your account as it's set up in Mail. Fortunately the article linked below details what to do in such a situation, and can help get your email account to work correctly with Mail on your Mac.

The issue is not linked to the mail application, but with the Notes app, as I cannot sign in to view my previous notes. Attached is the error I receive when attempting to sign in through System Preferences. Again, this is for an AOL account. Thanks.
