Try following these steps to clean the Digital Crown on your watch:
- Turn off your watch and remove it from the charger.
- If you have a leather band, remove it from your watch.
- Hold the Digital Crown under lightly running, warm, fresh water from a tap / faucet for between 10 and 15 seconds.
- Do not use soaps or any other cleaning products.
- Continuously turn and press the Digital Crown as the water runs over the small gap in between the Digital Crown and the watch case.
- Afterwards, dry your watch with a non-abrasive, lint-free cleaning cloth.

Also try restarting (or, if that doesn't help, force restarting) your watch:
- Restart: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag the slider to turn off; then press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.
- Force restart: press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for around 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
Otherwise, contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available) or make a Genius Bar reservation with a view to having your watch checked under warranty:
