Oct 18, 2015 5:12 PM in response to amuthukumar188by frkentb,I'm having same problem, but it doesn't work on anything. Have gone to Mission Control and selected "Displays have separate spaces" then logged out & back in, but still not working. I hold on the green/arrow circles & nothing happens. Is it supposed to work on older macbook pro's also? Mine is an early 2011.

Oct 18, 2015 5:23 PM in response to frkentbby amuthukumar188,Yeah i have been having the same issue. I am using a 2013 air. Checked the the 'displays have separate spaces' also and it still doesn't work. I finally got it to work with Safari and Preview today but after a week of repeatedly trying out different apps that its compatible with. Even if one app goes into split view, i just cannot choose another :/

Oct 18, 2015 8:45 PM in response to amuthukumar188by actionmarker,Spilt View is limited by the minimum width of an application's window when in standard view. If two app takes up more than the full width of the your display when you resize each application window to their minimum width, then they will not be able to be shared in Split View.
As you are using a smaller display, I am suspecting that the minimum width of Pages when viewed in standard view on your display is greater than half the width of the display.
If you are using a retina display, you can change the resolution of the display in System Preferences > Displays to Scaled - More Space, then Pages will probably now fit is Split View. It's a poor work around as now everything else on your computer display is smaller too.
Pages and the other iWork apps all had an update the other day, so this issue may be resolved once the updates have been installed on your computer.

Oct 19, 2015 1:25 PM in response to actionmarkerby frkentb,With my 2011 macbook pro, I can't make any difference for split-viewing by changing the resolution. Anybody else out there have an older macbook pro and having problems activating split view?

Feb 18, 2016 8:22 PM in response to frkentbby frkentb,Um, nevermind. I assumed my macbook pro had upgraded to El Capitan because it was doing regular upgrades. Turns out I never actually installed EC -- which I did tonight and now have the ability to do splitscreen

Sorry I jumped the gun ! The problem with split screen still exists along with screen saver that quits after ten minutes.I suspect they require a fix by Apple.
