Q: Resume not functioning properly.

Not all of my apps are resuming in the same position when I restart or log out and log back in. This is not consistent across accounts on my machine and none of the accounts are using Login Items. Are there any fine-grained controls that delegate the positions of apps that are open such as having several full screen apps in a certain order? Also, iMessages is always starting up with an open window, when it was never open before and it was not added to Login Items.

Mac mini, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3), Late 2012 Mac Mini

    I don't really remember a version of OSX that always reopened windows in the same position they were. The are no "fine-grained controls" to force that. I seem to remember there are or were  third-party apps meant to do that. I don't remember what they were or if they are OSX 10.11 compatible.

     

    I have no idea why Messages would open without being set to.
