Jan 8, 2016 6:56 AM in response to randysrodeoby akabrus,Upgraded from 10.9 to 10.11. CanoScan Lide 90 did not work anymore. I deleted all software which was delivered with the scanner and installed new from Canon-Site (Mountain Lion -Software). Now it works again. Hope this will help.

Jan 20, 2016 5:53 PM in response to akabrusby krazykat5848,So sad,
OSX 10.11.2. I have not had occasion to use my scanner lately and was unpleasantly surprised to find that the buttons no longer work. Do we need to petition Canon? It seems like there is an issue of political economy underlying our problem. Should we beg, demand, or perhaps hurl invectives. All in all this has gone on too long and I think that Canon needs to hear about it. I hope that someone will forward this message board to the appropriate people at Canon. They need to know that their current software is incompatible with the latest Mac OS.
Somewhat hopeful,
John

Jan 22, 2016 5:18 PM in response to randysrodeoby Roger Walker USA,Same problem however my LiDE 200 scanner worked fine on 10.11.1 It stopped working with 10.11.2 If that's any help to anyone. Apple goes their own way not thinking just how they mess up the business community. No wonder switching over is slow.

Jan 30, 2016 1:00 PM in response to Roger Walker USAby PauloPaulo,Hope this answer hasn't been given already (I skipped ahead) but was having same problem as others here with MacBook Air and El Capitan's update (I'm on 10.11.2 now) whereby my Canon LiDE 200 was no longer recognized by VueScan (but worked with ImageCapture, by the way). VueScan is updated regularly, again on Jan. 18, 2016. Downloaded latest version and the Canon LiDE 200 now works again with it. I've been using VueScan since 2004 with every scanner I've ever owned (about 6 of them since then). It is updated often by the developer and I recommend it. Once you buy it, never pay another upgrade/update fee, heck of a deal. Or at least that was the deal when I bought it in 2004 for like $50. as I recall.

Jan 30, 2016 1:09 PM in response to randysrodeoby Old Toad,I've tried VueScan (trial version), and it mostly just hangs and/or crashes....
Try the 32 bit version of VueScan, VueScan 9.5 x32, at the bottom of this page: VueScan - Official Site

Jan 30, 2016 1:58 PM in response to PauloPauloby PauloPaulo,I apologize for my overenthusiastic post about VueScan and LiDE 200. At this time I am NOT able to scan with VueScan ver. 9.5.36. It worked once, and it does recognize the scanner in a pop-up menu, but now it hangs on attempting preview scan. Tried re-starting. I AM able to scan with ImageCapture.

Jan 30, 2016 1:49 PM in response to PauloPauloby Roger Walker USA,Apple needs a wakeup call with all their "doing the best job we know how to", Tim Cook lives in a big money world and has lost touch with just how much troble his minions spread throughout the real world.

Jan 30, 2016 1:57 PM in response to PauloPauloby PauloPaulo,This will likely be my last post since I've mucked up this thread already but now I can confirm that the 32-bit version of VueScan 9.5.36 does work with the Canon LiDE 200 on my MacBook Air running El Capitan 10.11.2. Apparently I was using the 64 bit version in my earlier attempt. Also, it seems to work best to unplug the scanner then plug it back in, if you have quit VueScan. Otherwise it seems to hang, if you quit VueScan then re-launch, without unplugging/plugging the scanner from the USB port before starting VueScan. So it's not perfect but it's working.

Feb 2, 2016 2:19 AM in response to randysrodeoby ravigutt,I have had this problem with Canon scanners and printers for years. Canon does not upgrade drivers ( they probably want you to buy a new printer/scanner). The only good solution is to change fraom Canon to another producer.

Feb 13, 2016 8:26 AM in response to SCGuy2by Bruzerjunk,That seemed to do the trick - removing the scanner and re-adding in system preferences. Using Preview also worked.
But it makes a hideous noise while scanning now.

Scanner now works.

Feb 25, 2016 4:50 AM in response to krazykat5848by atthegollop,I too have had this problem with Lide 220 on OS X El Capitan, especially as the buttons didn't work, which meant the copy facility disappeared. This morning I checked in with the discussion to see if there was any progress, then checked out the Canon web site. They have produced a new version of the driver (ICA Driver ver 4.1.3, released Jan 23 2016). I downloaded and installed – guess what? – it now works! If this is just a temporary thing and it reverts to its previous misbehaviour, I shall probably go and bang my head on the nearest wall, but not before coming back and apologising.

Feb 25, 2016 10:48 AM in response to atthegollopby Roger Walker USA,Please post your link to the canon driver that you discussed. After much searching and a google search also, I was unable to find "ICA Driver ver 4.1.3" that you said worked. Thank you.
