Dec 26, 2015 11:15 AM in response to Calvdonby fuminthumin,I had the exact same problem. It looks like some things work for some and other things work for others.
After hours/days/weeks with this problem, this is what ultimately worked for me.
Forgive me (experts) if I am dumbing this all down for people... but I could have used the "dumbed down version" a while ago. Hope this helps someone.
My Solution:
You have to authorize the computer with EVERY apple ID that is used on any of the devices that are being synced.
So for instance, if you have an apple ID that is used for mainly for the phone but then use an alternate apple ID for family share purchases, then you need to authorize the computer (while in the computer's iTunes app) for BOTH AppleIDs.
How you do this?
- Log into your iTunes app on your computer.
- Go to the menu bar.
- Select Store.
- Select Authorize this computer.
- Plug in the apple ID that is associated with purchase for the iTunes account.
- Then, do this exact same thing for any other the apple ID tassociated with your device. (To avoid accidental charges in iTunes, I just left he billing info blank on my alternate ID set up, so that nothing could be charged).
I have absolutely no idea why you need to do this, but it is what resolved this problem. Nothing else helped. But this did the trick for me.

Jan 2, 2016 10:47 PM in response to fuminthuminby JohnC57,I'll go try this. Haven't been able to get past this computer not authorized message since I adopted my wife's iPhone 5S when she got her new 6S
for Christmas. I used to have a 4S. Same PC computer nothing else changed. Grrr.

Feb 25, 2016 5:39 PM in response to john_petrucciby Sal Alvarado,This did the trick. What an easy fix. I just unselected a ringtone and then "apply" popped up as an option. I hit apply and it allowed me to finish the sync.

Feb 25, 2016 5:44 PM in response to john_petrucciby Sal Alvarado,I tried many different solutions but yours is the one that finally worked. It was a very simple fix. All I did was change one of the ringtones and then the word apply appeared as an option. I then click the word apply and it allowed me to get can you do the entire sink process. Thanks!
