Feb 25, 2016 6:43 PM in response to gail from maineby Alicia Starr,MY phone was low on storage for photos so a message came up saying to optimize. I honestly cannot remember exactly what I did. I know that I selected optimize iPhone storage and some how I ended up deleting the photos from my device to iCloud. I am really frustrated because I did not want to do that and I just want them back on my phone. There were over 600 pictures. I appreciate any help I can get.

Feb 25, 2016 7:40 PM in response to Alicia Starrby gail from maine,★HelpfulSo, you are using iCloud Photo Library? Here's what the the iCloud Library FAQ sheet says about optimizing photos:
If you turn on Optimize [device] Storage, iCloud Photo Library will automatically manage the size of your library on your device, so you can make the most of your device's storage and access more photos than ever. All of your original, full-resolution photos and videos are stored in iCloud while device-size versions are kept on your device. You can download the original photos and videos over Wi-Fi or cellular when you need them.
If you turn on Download Originals, iCloud Photo Library will keep your original, full-resolution photos and videos in iCloud and on your device. Download Originals is the default setting for iOS devices with the free 5 GB storage plan and for all Mac devices.
So, some questions:
1. How much space do you have available on your device?
2. How much space do you have available on iCloud?
3. Have you gone to iCloud.com on a computer to see if you can see the photos?
4. Are you connected to Wifi?
Some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Go to Settings>Photos & Camera and toggle iCloud Photo Library off and then back on to see if that will result in getting your photos downloaded
Reset the device: hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Slide to unlock screen displays, see if the photos re-download
